Perfect match for Audi Wheels
January 10, 2019
I researched and researched to find a silver to match our wheels on a 2013 Audi A5, One wheel had real bad curb rash that I had to use epoxy to full the gouges with. That whole wheel had to be painted. The other wheel just had one bad area and I only sprayed maybe 1/3 of it. Both wheels came out perfect! You can not tell the difference what one was completely painted to the one that was partially painted. The fact is when I ask people if they can spot the wheels I worked on they pick the wheels I never touched! I used about half a can of clear and silver to complete this project. I would think if your doing all four wheels you would need two cans of each not including primer which I bought locally.

After a lot of internet searching and education, I opted for the Wurth system to repaint my worn out Boxster wheels. I followed the directions to the letter, and could not be happier with the results.
ProsGreat final product.
ConsI used one can of silver paint on all four wheels, but needed two cans of lacquer to get perfect finish.
Plan on one set per wheel

Spray goes on dry resulting in a satin finish rather than a smooth high gloss. Disappointed.

It is a good quality product, needs to be sprayed closer to the wheel approximately 4" away in a area where there is very little air flow to prevent it from drying before it hits the wheel.
ProsBeautiful finish, covers well
Refinished a set of wheels

Follow the directions on the can for great results. I lightly scuffed the clear coat on my wheels, and did 3 light coats of color followed by the clear coat. Very impressed with the product, and would buy again.
2009 A4 Audi

Great product for all Germanic wheels, including this 2009 A4 Audi. Paint match was very good, but the silver paint required constant shaking or the metallics came out darker. That isn't a big issue on multi spoked wheels with shadow lines. Well worth the expense vs. $150/wheel to have professionally refurbished.
ProsInexpensive compared with professionals.
ConsSilver requires shaking during application, not just prior to spraying.
