Best Polisher Around
January 16, 2020
The rupes line up is the Rolls Royce of polishers. This polisher never fails to produce a flawless shine. Would be a great tool for a beginner due to the fact that it produces minimal heat and holograms. Highly recommend you add this to your arsenal of tools!
ProsEverything about it.
ConsAbsolutely none

My second Rupes machine
December 28, 2019
I decided to purchase this after using my Rupes 4" buffer for over a year. I wish I had done it sooner due to time savings. It's good for weekend warriors like myself and professionals; technique is everything.
ProsGreat machine and easy to operate

Fantastic DA Polisher That Increases Productivity
April 23, 2014
My first DA polisher was a Griot's Garage 6 inch DA polisher, which I still think is an excellent product. I did my first few corrections with the GG, and what I didn't like about it was the noise and the vibration. I purchased the 15ES mostly as a luxury item, and I chose the 15ES over the 21 because I really didn't have to worry about the constancy of turning over vehicles in a timely manner because I'm not a professional detailer. The Rupes 15ES is beautifully crafted. It is solid but relatively light weight. It is well-balanced when being held. The palm rest at the working end of the instrument allows me to apply an appropriate pressure to the device without fatiguing my left hand or fingers, and the long handle in the back allows my right hand to stabilize the polisher and guide it along in concert with my left hand. I can accomplish this much more easily that I could with my GG, which is a bit thicker and more of an effort to grasp with my hands. (I don't mean to imply that it's an unbearable effort, but it does take more energy over the course of a detail to hold and balance the GG compared to the 15ES.) The handle is nice in that it has a trigger and a locking switch closely related to the speed dial. The GG is not designed that way. The 15ES has a very large throw, and this exceeds the other DA polishers except the Rupes 21 of course. This allows you to cover more ground when doing your section passes. The available pads that are available to the Rupes 15ES are top notch, and the blue and green ones have great cutting capabilities. I have also used the 15ES with LC CCS pads and the LC hybrid wool pads. They all work very nicely with the 15ES. I've been very happy with my purchase of this tool, and I intend to use it as my primary DA polisher. I have since converted my GG 6 inch to one with a 3.5 inch backing plate for use in areas that require less throw and smaller pads. I think a GG 6 inch converted to a 3 or 3.5 inch is more powerful than the often maligned stock GG 3 inch DA polisher.
ProsNicely crafted. Well-balanced in your hands. Relatively quiet. Easy to manipulate, guide and control. Works with a variety of pads.
Cons1. The price is high for this device. I don't know if you get what you pay for, but in my opinion, it does handle better than the GG DA polisher. 2. Warranty is for 1 year, which is substantially less than the lifetime warranty for GG. 3. Electric cord is relatively short, thus requiring an extension cord for freedom of movement.

Worth every penny!

I recently purchased this item and I don't think I can live without it now. So many different and effective ways and combinations to use this tool. Micro fiber pads add an amazing finish. Buffing out swirls and even moderate oxidation are easy as ever because of the large throw this machine offers. Bottom line great machine👍
