Went from porter cable to Griots to this. Wow, what an upgrade, its the Cadillac of polishers, so smooth. Expensive, but worth every penny!
This thing is amazing!

I have used a ton of polishers from torq, flex, Adams SK, and several others and this thing is the best so far. I highly recommend it.

Bigfoot LHR15 Mark III

This is my 1sr Rupes polisher with Rupes pads I have been using a Porter Cable with LC CCS pads and it has served me well. The Rupes LHR15III was a XMas present to myself. The variable speed trigger is nice, cruise control is really nice, I like the bumpers on the back so you can lay it upside down. The vibration from the machine isn't as bad as the PC and it seems to be built really well. I don't detail for profit but I have 4 vehicles, 2 buggys, 1 big tractor and a 43' RV I keep looking new. This is a real nice polisher with great features and I'm sure this machine will out last my PC hands down. I'm on my 2nd PC and will use it with the 3" CCS pads now. Rupes has great features that will make my life easier and maybe no more numb hands after hours of use. I tested it on a 10 year old riding mower hood that has been sitting in the East Texas weather for 10 years. The hood was wet sanded the polished with Wolfgang Uber 3.0, then with Sonax Perfect Finish, last step was Carpro Reflect. Now the rest of the mow looks like crap. LOL
ProsLots of great features
ConsNone I have found yet

I bought this machine after using a porter cable 7424 xp for a few years. This thing is head and shoulders better and a completely different animal all together. RUPES makes really good equipment and my only regret may be not getting the 21
ProsWell balanced, quieter than my porter cable, smoother operating than the porter cable. Trigger lock is in the perfect spot
ConsPrice if any, all good polishers are in this price range so not terribly upset

In love with this polisher! I'm not sure why I put of getting one for so long. Less vibration and noise compared to my G15.
ProsMinimal noise and vibration
From Rotary to DA
November 7, 2019
I've used rotary polishers many many years ago for a dealership and burned the paint on a few occasions. I was worried about doing it on my personal vehicles, especially around edges/trim, since it's been many years. Also, I was concerned with swirls/halo's since I've Black vehicles so I decided to try a DA. I've no experience with other DA's but will say the Rupes worked excellent!. I did burn a few spots but only because I wet sanded these areas, perfectionist, and there wasn't enough clear left which is my own fault. Besides that I was able to polish near edges and corners without worry and the vehicle finished with exceptional gloss. It took me a lot longer than with rotary but I probably wasn't applying enough pressure and need some practice with the unit. Besides that, I'm happy I made the switch and can polish with confidence and less anxiety in the future.
ProsNo Anxiety, Comfortable, Smooth, Nice Trigger, Long Cord
ConsA bit slower than rotary but with more practice and less pickiness I'm sure I could be faster.
