I learned the autobody trade back in the late 60's and have been more or less active in it since. Back in those days we sanded but hand, and I mean by hand, literally holding the paper in our hand, no block and no R.O.. However we did use a "surf board" to level out he "bondo". We used a wool bonnet for ALL our buffing. No foam pads in those days. So fast forward to 2018. Now we have base coat/ clear coat with activators, 8000 grit papers, R.O. wet sanders, foam pads of a thousand styles, and near flawless finishes, so you can imagine the transition I've had to learn. I just found your site a bit ago and finally decided to give your products a try. I'd been using the 3M Perfect It system with OK results, but continued to struggle with trace scratches. I always started with 1500 paper soaked for a bit in water hoping to somehow avoid these, but they persisted. Then I found your Foamed Wool pad and installed it on my DeWalt 849 buffer. All I can say is WOW. One pass with this pad and then a follow-up with my Porter Cable 7424 XP and finer compounds and my scratches are all but gone. I'm using Lake Country foam pads on the P/C. Thanks for the great service and products.

Wool buffing pad
April 15, 2015
This wool buffing was purchased as an alternative to using terry and microfiber bonnets to remove the wax haze. I would go through two or three bonnets each time I waxed my Jaguar. I was concerned that this wool pad would compress (the fibers would flatten out and reduce its effectiveness), however, that has not been the case. I can buff the entire car using the same buffing pad. The fibers of this pad stay "vertical" while buffing and the pad looks exactly like it did when I first received it. The pad does a great job of removing the wax haze without leaving any swirls.
Good for gel coat

On AutoGeek customer service's recommendation I'm using these foamed wool pads on my moderately oxidized metal flake boat and they work really well. I'm using a PC 7424XP with Meguiar's One Step Compound. A few passes on 4 1/2 to 5 speed setting does the trick. I've cleaned it up twice using plain ol' Dawn and a medium bristle "fingernail" brush and it's come back near new. Good purchase.

This pad did great cutting through heavily oxidized gelcoat. Lasts reaIatively long too. I was able to do the whole boat with two pads.
Best Light cutting pad out there

If you're looking for a medium cut correction pad, look no further. This pad produces moderate correction without leaving holograms and swirls so commonly left by other wool pads. Used with Men's SIP, it's just outstanding.
