AMAZING CUT AND VERY LITTLE WOOL FUZZ
February 6, 2016
These foamed wool pads are amazing. I also have the 3". They allow you to get almost the same amount of cut as a rotary polisher on a DA! They shed very little wool fuzz at first and quit very rapidly. You can run the speed all the way up to 6 and get some serious correction done in very short order. I completely compounded out 2000 grit wet sand marks in 2 passes on my Flex 3401 on black BMW paint. Very impressive! I've used them with Meguiars M100 & M105, Menzerna FG400 & SHC 300, HD Cut & Adapt and 3D AAT Compound on a Flex 3401, Griot"s 3rd Gen DA and my Rupes 21 depending on the paint I'm correcting. These pads work great with all the above compounds and machines. The fact that they are so thin means that the nap doesn't get matted down as you polish and it also allows all the power of your DA to go right to the paint where it does what it's supposed to do instead of getting absorbed into the foam of thicker pads and becoming toothless. I'm a huge fan of these and I keep a set of them in my mobile van and shop all the time. With these I rarely need to use my rotary anymore. The 3" size is perfect for headlights and compounding after de-nibbing small spots and these 5" pads are perfect for the rest of the flatter surfaces.
ProsFast cut with very little fuzz at first (none after used) and leave virtually no haze behind normally associated with wool pads. Seem to last quite a while too. Haven't destroyed them yet.
ConsNone so far
Great Cutting, Surprising Finishing
December 14, 2014
These pads are excellent at cutting paint, and finish way better than expected. The one drawback is how rough they ride. Sometimes the gain patterns of the wool will fight you, as the pattern isn't uniform or consistent. I used them on a Porter Cable 7424xp with Megs M105.
ProsHeavy cut, great finish.
ConsTough to tame.

Thin Wool Pads Work Great for Removing Severe Swirls
June 5, 2014
As the headline says, these work great for removing severe swirls quickly using a D/A buffer. Because they are so thin, they are not very flexible on the edges for working near curves, but that's the nature of the beast.
