I cleaned and polished glass before use. Some slight streaking that took a little effort to remove. Works as well as RainX but I'm hoping longevity is better. Doesn't help much at <30mph but once your speed is sufficient, no need for wipers.
ProsPrice. A little goes a long way.
ConsWish it worked at lower speeds but, I'm not sure such a product exists.
Better than I expected

After cleaning and polishing my front windshield, I applied G5. Wow, what a difference.
Excellent as always

I applied the G1 coating some time around February. (2016) I was looking for a little extra. So I purchased the G5. It's thick much like a wax. Goes on easy comes off easy. I've only driven in one rainyday and it preformed amazingly well. The G1 works great with Hwy speeds and the G5 works great from 35mph and up. Perfect combination.
ProsEasy application, low speed hydrophobic properties
ConsNone so far
Water sprints away!

This product works great, there is just no comparison between it and something like Rainx. It lasted a couple months and I am now due to put more on. Not quite as long of life as I had hoped, but there is always a trade off between longevity and how well the water replelancy works. When applying, be careful if you have trim around your windows. This stuff is kind-of like a liquidy paste, and is difficult (but not impossible) to get off the trim.
ProsFantastic water repelancy
ConsHard to take residue off plastic trim

Walter runs away from the windshield with a blow of a wind. 30 to 35 mph is enough. Great for urban use. Definitely better performance than rain x. highly recommended. Use G4 polish as a prep before applying G5.
ProsGreat repellency. Easy to apply.
ConsNone so far.
MY new Rain-X Replacement.

I was considering purchasing Aquapel but after seeing how much you get in one application. I couldn't justify the expense. I felt this product was a better value. The liquid is thick and brown. About as thick as a liquid wax. I found the best way to apply this to the windows is with a "microfiber pad" on a cool surface, a little bit goes a long way, let it sit for about 1 minutes then wipe off with a dry waffle weave towel. After application bring car out into the sun and let it cure. Note: Car is outside 24/7 I apply every 6 months to the side windows and my front/ Rear windows every 3 months. The water literally beads up as slow as 40mph. This product is mainly design for city driving not highway driving. I do Highway driving , but the most I do per day is 15miles and the rest is city. If you mostly do highway driving, you may want to step up to the Gtechniq G1 ClearVision Smart Glass
ProsCan get several applications out of it Good alternative to the popular Rain-X. The closest example I could think of.
Consat most will last 5months
