Much, much more correction power than a PC7424!
November 4, 2016
I am a new professional detailer. I started with the PC7424, but quickly outgrew it. I really wanted the Flex 3401, but I can't justify it right now. So I figured the GG DA 6" would be a good upgrade from the PC. Boy was I right. The key is two fold: 1. The clutch on the GG is so much more geared for paint correction, compared to the PC. It cuts and cuts, just makes the PC clutch look like a toy. Seriously. I'm glad I had it for learning, but now it will only be used with my carpet and interior brush. The GG 6" allows you a SERIOUS paint correction compared to the PC7424. 2. The motor and size of the GG 6" is a beast. It does not vibrate any worse than the PC, it probably vibrates LESS. I heard it was bad, but it is better than the PC. The top handle really allows you to adjust it to work the polisher from different angles (especially on the roof) and works much better than side handles. I will buy the Flex 3401 one day (I have the Flex's little brother (PE8) and know it is smooth, and just amazing. But this GG 6" is a great upgrade. Even my wife noticed the difference in how her Wrangle looked after using Menzerna polish and Colonite on it, compare to the PC 7424. I did as others did and ditched the backing plate for a 5" one. This thing is a beast!!! Lifetime warranty too!
Pros-WAY more paint correction than the PC7424 -Smooth -Useful center mount handle -25' cord is worth it!!!!!

I really like this polisher, purchased to replace my PC 7424xp. This thing has all the power you'll ever need for mid to light defect removal & is a joy to use. Make sure you purchase a Lake Country 5" backing plate to really bring out the power & enjoyment of this machine. Grab some 5.5" pads too & you'll be polishing like a pro!
ProsLight weight, ergonomic & powerful, best choice for novice to professional detailers!
ConsNone to date!

My first polisher, the Griots 6 inch polisher brings back fond memories. I still have it , and I still use it after 7 years, and it's still going strong. The perfect polisher for a beginner, it is forgiving of mistakes and is powerful enough to correct most defects. A person new to polishers can LEARN on this machine, and the results are encouraging enough to keep one coming back. I can't think of a polisher respected across the board as much as this one.
ProsSafe, strong, and forgiving of mistakes.
ConsI can't think of anything.

I've had this polisher for about 2 months now and I love it. the learning curve is very short lived as well, just check out the videos mike phillips has on youtube or the ones on griots garage and you'll have it down in no time. However NOTE- buy 5" backing plate and pads!! don't waste your time with 6.5" pads. they cause the machine to not be able to correct paint as well and are just to big for most panels on cars. the 5" backing plate and pads feel so much better as well. just save your money and get the hydrotech pads from lake county and get a 3" backing plate and some pads from them as well and you'll be set to tackle any project you want! Love this thing! my car and others I detail on the side look perfect now!
ProsLots of power, easy to use, great feel and results
Consits orange and ugly lol
Use mine 5 days a week!
