I never used a polisher before and really like this polisher , . I was able to compound and polish on my collector cars and found the meguiars 7" soft buff pads worked the best with ease and keeping rotation going very good, Removed all swirls from my '67 chevelle and 356B roadster that I had restored / painted in the early '90's
Very smooth DA

I’m in love with the cordless Flex series and decided to try the corded DA. It it just crazy smooth with almost no vibration. The 15mm orbit makes for quick finishing and it’s fairly lightweight. My only complaint it I wish the power cord was longer.
ProsSmooth, powerful, fairly light.
ConsExpensive (it's a Flex afterall) Wish the powercord was longer

I love this for finishing cars. I thought it would be really fast with the 9000 Opm but it's actually slower than my other 15mm polisher that broke that runs a high of 5500 rpm. Not the greatest at cutting heavy defects because of the stalling with pads with more grab but can manage. Extremely balanced and the noise level is pretty low. The economics of this thing are incredibly comfortable.
ProsSize, shape, weight, balance, craftsmanship
ConsSeems to stall a bit on curved panels

Great 15mm Polisher, But.........

There is no reason a 15mm only comes with a 6'' backing plate. I would be happy to pay extra if they included both. That being said, It really is a smooth well balanced machine. I can throw a Wool Pad on my Beast and cut a hole car. Then just pick up the "Finisher" and finish the polishing step easily
ProsGreat addition to any 3401 owner
Cons5" backing plate sold separately.

It's almost perfect with the exception of a couple things such as "NOT HAVING" a bale handle, as an option, so I became creative as you'll see in one of my attached photos. I hope that Flex will soon create the world's first "2 into 1 free spinning, and direct drive" at the push of a button machine to forever put their buffers into another galaxy when compared to any other brand....YES, I would be happily willing and anxious to pay more for that should their R & D department take me up on it! It's incredibly smooth, as if it uses a brushless motor...WOW!!!!! German technology continues to truly be Exceptionally Astonishing, and that's why I "ONLY" use their polishes/compounds as well!
